  • Dr. Kanaan, MD

    Azzam Kanaan, M.D., is Executive Director at KNI. A board-certified neurologist, Dr. Kanaan specializes in the primary interpretation of neurologic images. He is certified by the American Society of Neuro-Imaging in Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Neurosonology; and he is certified by the American Society of Computerized Tomography and Neuro-Imaging in Neurological Computerized Tomography. A graduate of Ain Shams University Medical School in Cairo, he performed his neurology residency at Indiana University Medical Center. Dr. Kanaan is the guiding force behind the success of Southwest Michigan Imaging Center/KNI and its affiliated services, including Midwest Mobile Diagnostic Imaging (MMDI). He leads the team that keeps patient care in the forefront of the many technological and medical advances made at KNI over the past 23 years. Among Dr. Kanaan’s honors is the Commitment to Education Excellence Award from Michigan State University, Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies.

  • Dr. Zafar MD, FAAN

    A board certified Neurologist and Clinical Neurophysiologist, has been a part of Kalamazoo Neurology since 1992. Dr. Zafar specializes in the primary interpretation of neurologic images. He is board certified in Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology and in NeuroImaging (MRI and CT) by the American Society of Neuroimaging. A graduate of University of Madras – Madras Medical College in India, he performed his neurology residency at the University of Missouri Hospitals and Clinics, Columbia, Missouri, fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology at the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa and fellowship in NeuroImaging at the Dent Neurologic Institute, Buffalo, New York. Among Dr. Zafar’s honors is the Hobart Prize in Clinical Medicine.

  • Dr. Dagli, MD

    After graduating from medical school at Topiwala National Medical College, University of Bombay in Bombay, India, Rajesh Dagli, M.D. completed both an internship and a residency in internal medicine and psychiatry at the University of Bombay. Relocating to the United States, Dr. Dagli completed a neurology residency at V.A. Medical Center, Minneapolis, and at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland Ohio. In 1989 he completed a fellowship in electrophysiology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, and joined Kalamazoo Neurology. Dr. Dagli has participated in numerous research projects and associations. He was board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in 1988, and holds certification in electrodiagnostic medicine and sleep medicine.

  • Mark Anthony Shaman, MD

    A 1993 graduate of Michigan State University, Dr. Shaman gained his medical degree at Wayne State University School of Medicine, where he also completed a general surgery internship and diagnostic radiology residency. During his tenure as Chief Resident, he nominated for the Outstanding Resident Teaching Award. Following residency, Dr. Shaman completed a vascular and interventional radiology fellowship at Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Shaman is board certified and has a special interest in vascular and interventional radiology.

  • Marcio Curvelo, MD

    Dr. Curvelo gained his medical degree at UFRGS School of Medicine, Porto Alegre, Brazil in 1997. He completed a general surgery internship and diagnostic radiology residency in Long Island, NY at Nassau University Medical Center (a major affiliate of SUNY Stony Brook). Dr. Curvelo completed a vascular and interventional radiology fellowship at Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital. He was then invited to join the staff at Mass General and was appointed instructor in Radiology at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Curvelo is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology and in Vascular and Interventional Radiology. Dr. Curvelo has written or contributed to several refereed publications in radiology journals, and made numerous presentations for both clinical education and research symposia as well as national and international medical meetings. He has been involved in IVC filter, Venous Access and Tumor embolization research trials.

  • Elizabeth A. Gaary, MD

    Dr. Gaary earned a Bachelor of Science with honors from Colgate University in Hamilton, New York, and a Master of Science in physiology and medical degree from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. She fulfilled a rotating surgical internship at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia and a diagnostic radiology residency at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, which included a year of pediatric radiology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Boston Children’s Hospital. Dr. Gaary’s fellowship in musculoskeletal and MRI radiology was attained at Cornell University-Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. She is board certified, has authored several articles in peer reviewed journals, and has special interests in cross-sectional and pediatric imaging.

  • Iris De Odorico, MD

    Dr. De Odorico has a Bachelor of Science and medical degree from the University of Western Ontario, and fulfilled a transitional internship at St. Joseph’s Hospital in London, Ontario. Her diagnostic radiology residency was completed at the University of Michigan Medical Center. Dr De Odorico continued her education with a cross-sectional imaging fellowship and breast imaging mini-fellowship at University of San Diego Medical Center, California, where she was also on staff as an Assistant Professor. Dr De Odorico is board certified, has published in several radiology journals and has special interests in cross-sectional imaging.

  • Terrence Wilkin, MD

    Dr. Wilkin graduated from the Indiana University School of Medicine. He served an internship in preliminary medicine at St. Vincent Hospital and his residency in diagnostic radiology at the Indiana University Medical Center. Before his work at Borgess, Dr. Wilkin completed a fellowship in vascular and interventional radiology at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine.
